In 2008, Floyd was recognized in the Nashville Business Journal’s Impact Awards and was named Home Builder of the Year by the Rutherford County Homebuilders Association. Just a few months before, Floyd was named Tennessee Home Builder of the Year by the Home Builders Association of Tennessee. Ole South is also recognized by Tennessee Housing & Development Agency as the “Builder of the Year” for 2012, 2013,2014, and 2015. Ole South and the Community

Ole South is dedicated to the communities where they build. With the creation of the John Floyd Charitable Foundation, more than $1 million in financial, material and labor support has been given to various organizations throughout Middle Tennessee.

Recently Floyd, in partnership with the Rutherford County Home Builders Association, led an effort to renew the building trades vocational program at Oakland High School in Rutherford County. Floyd supplied materials, labor and political motivation to a project designed to replenish the skilled labor workforce in Middle Tennessee. Ole South is also actively involved in the Academy of Architecture & Construction at Nashville’s Cane Ridge High School, along with many other civic organizations.
